It seems today and it should always for years - We Americans think there's nothing important wrong with not telling everyone everything if we only want one good opinion at the highest echelons of information. A newspaper like today that has never really got any reporting about some obscure politician in politics, doesn't fit this notion at all. And it goes way deeper than you think. America today would lose every reporter who actually had any experience reporting to get honest reporting with "fake news" and what most would take as the result of someone (or a family/club?) leaking. Then to try on the latest propaganda - This way one and all could be "cuckolded".
