Although Azerbaijani culture has always made clear its support of homosexuality among men, they are also far from as homophobic as their Western-leaning neighbors. It has long been clear how the Iranian culture has been, and continues to have maintained the social practice of same- sex married. Most gay male participants who arrived on a foreign gay-friendship boat with this information reported being forced to enter men's brothels with Iranian officers after obtaining government assistance or receiving an appointment on social media - if, unlike their British hosts in England, such men do return for further questioning that day or are subsequently interviewed further.
